Play Test Event: Invention Convention
17/08/2019 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Do you love playing games in development? How about having a freshly poured beer while you play?
If you answered yes, then we’ve got the event for you!
We’ve teamed up with a local board game creator, Morgy, for our first play testing event!
Join us for the afternoon to try their new and unique two-player board game, Invention Convention! Players take on the role of rival inventors who attempt to construct, sabotage, and hastily repair their outrageous inventions all for the purpose of fulfilling a function and impressing the judges at the Invention Convention.
On the day, Morgy will teach you the game and assist with play as needed. During the event he will be gathering feedback for future development of the game.
The game will start from 2pm, and it is expected to take approximately an hour.
Spaces are limited to 6 seats, and bookings are essential.
What is Invention Convention?
Created by a local Canberra gamer, Invention Convention is a unique two player game, where players take on the role of rival inventors who attempt to construct, sabotage, and hastily repair their outrageous inventions all for the purpose of fulfilling a function and impressing the judges at the Invention Convention.
The game is played on a mirrored board with a colourful array of cards and tokens which are placed turn-by-turn. The key to success is strategy! You will need to know how to manage your resources, outwit your opponent, cause timely chaos, and maintain style in order to win with the most points.
What will happen on the day?
In partnership with The Copper Dragon, Morgy is looking for experienced gamers in Canberra to help play test Invention Convention and provide feedback on their experience. The game is currently in a beta stage and needs many more test runs before it can be moved forward. Mogry will be on hand to assist with the rules and to collect your valuable feedback, to help make the game a polished reality.
Participants in the playtesting will have the opportunity to become part of a mailing list to receive invitations to test more in the future (more versions of this game and more games down the track). Morgy is also taking expressions of interest to hire an artist and/or graphic designer for the game, so if you’re interested please come along to check it out and have a chat with Morgy.
